State Representative Adam Mathews (R-Lebanon) has expressed his support for the Ohio House's decision to override the Governor's veto of HB 68, also known as the SAFE Act and Save Women's Sports Act. In a statement, Mathews highlighted the importance of promoting what is good, beautiful, and true, and criticized the Governor's veto for enabling harm and going against human anthropology.

Mathews stated, "From Aristotle to Aquinas, we are directed to promote and love the good, the beautiful, and the true. Instead, the Governor's veto enables and empowers harm, disfigurement, and a lie deeply at odds with human anthropology. I proudly co-sponsored and voted for HB 68, and I am glad that the Ohio House voted to override the veto and put the safety of Ohio's children first."

Aside from his support for the override, Mathews further discussed his vote during an interview with Scott Sloan on 700 WLW. Additionally, he authored an editorial in The National Review calling for an override vote.

The veto override will now move to the Senate for further consideration.
