Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce: Mahoning Valley Safety Council: Mental Health in the Workplace

22

Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Employers working within the context of COVID-19, isolation and social distancing, in addition to the normal turnover rate, drugs in the workplace and a myriad of other situations that arise, are facing higher levels of stress and emotional fatigue than ever before.

During this March MVSC webinar, On Demand Occupational Medicine's Greg Wess, CDCA, will ensure that participants:

  • Engage in a discussion on events in their work, as well as the work of their supervisees, that may trigger concerns related to mental fatigue or burnout.
  • Are educated on the symptoms, risk factors and protective factors for stress in the workplace.
  • Develop an understanding of ways mental fatigue and stress can be addressed/treated as well as prevented.
  • Engage in a discussion on how they will implement the presentation material into their work environments and supervision styles.
  • Learn to define self-care and recognize the importance of implementation.
  • Be given the tools to assess and refer if their employees need a professional’s help.
