Mercy Health issued the following announcement on April 15.
Mary Rita Carney learned she had oral cavity cancer that required surgery through a routine dental appointment. After Dr. Todd Brickman performed “free tissue transfer” reconstruction, Mary recovered with the support of friends, family and medical staff and is finally back to easily participating in daily activities.
