Warren-Trumbull County Public Library cardholders now have an additional option to borrow movies, documentaries, and more cinematic favorites free from the library through the video streaming platform Kanopy.
Kanopy includes thousands of critically acclaimed movies, classic cinema, independent films, foreign films, documentaries, and educational videos that can be streamed on personal devices any time, anywhere. Videos can be enjoyed on a laptop or desktop computer, tablet, smartphone, or TV with streaming capabilities.
Kanopy can be accessed from the library website at www.WTCPL.org, at WTCPL.Kanopy.com, or by downloading the free Kanopy app. A library card number and email address will be required to create a free account.
Play credits are used to borrow and play videos on Kanopy. Library cardholders will each receive 10 play credits per month through the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, which can then be used to borrow videos on Kanopy. Each video will use 1 play credit, with the exception of those in Kanopy Kids that require no credits.
Kanopy Kids is a collection of movies and shows specially for kids. The library offers unlimited plays in Kanopy Kids, so cardholders can explore enriching, educational, and entertaining films and TV series.
Once the Play button has been pressed on a video and a play credit has been used, the borrower will have 48 or 72 hours to view that video as many times as they like without using another play credit. Play credits will reset back to 10 on the first day of each month.
