State Senator Nathan Manning (R-North Ridgeville) announced that the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is awarding $2 million to the City of Norwalk for road safety improvements. In total, $15 million will be disbursed for projects across the state.

"I'm excited these funds are coming to Norwalk so the city can make critical upgrades to State Route 61," Manning said. "It is imperative we keep all drivers and pedestrians safe, and this investment by the state will help us achieve this for Huron County residents."

ODOT's Small City Grant Program awarded Norwalk these funds to rehabilitate West Main Street from Cortland Street to Newton Street. The work also includes storm sewer replacement, new curb ramps, new sidewalks, and upgraded pedestrian crossings.
