The Ohio Controlling Board has approved the allocation of $1,807,689.80 for Shawnee State University to fund the Campus Gateway/Third Street Development Project. The announcement was made by State Representative Justin Pizzulli, who represents Scioto County.

The funds will be used to reopen a previously closed section of Third Street on the university's campus. The project involves curbing, sidewalk installation, asphalt work, and landscaping.

Pizzulli stated, "This project will increase student safety while creating a welcoming first impression for those entering campus." He added that "Shawnee State truly is a pillar of our community."
