State Representative Adam Mathews, a Republican from Lebanon, has been sworn in for his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 56th House District, covering southwest and central Warren County, including Lebanon, South Lebanon, and Mason.
"I am truly honored to advocate for our conservative Warren County values in the Statehouse," said Mathews. "I look forward to getting to work on legislation to make Ohio a better place to live, work and raise a family."
During the 135th General Assembly, Mathews successfully passed 12 bills into law. Notable achievements include a $2 billion income tax cut included in the budget, legislation concerning Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights for student athletes, and measures for financial transparency aimed at incoming college students. He also secured $50 million through the Capital and Operating Budgets to retain the Cincinnati Open Tennis Tournament in Mason. In addition to these legislative accomplishments, Mathews served as Chairman of both the House Public Health Policy Committee and House Pensions Committee and was Vice Chairman of the House Civil Justice Committee.
"I look forward to building off the successes of the last two years and continuing to deliver meaningful results for the 56th district and all of Ohio," stated Mathews.
The swearing-in ceremony took place during Monday's session, marking the start of the 136th General Assembly.
