State Representative Adam Mathews of Lebanon has announced his new committee assignments for the 136th General Assembly. Ohio House Speaker Matt Huffman appointed Mathews as Vice Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, which will oversee both criminal and civil justice matters.
In addition to this role, Mathews will serve on the Public Insurance and Pensions Committee, Technology and Innovation Committee, and Arts, Athletics, & Tourism Committee. "I am grateful to the Speaker for entrusting me with these great community assignments," said Mathews.
Mathews is currently in-house legal counsel for Heartbeat International. He played a significant role in securing over $50 million to retain the Cincinnati Open Tennis Tournament in his district. "As we saw with the Cincinnati Open, tourism is incredibly important to the economy of Ohio and needs to be defended and supported," stated Mathews. "Whether it is supporting tennis or Kings Island in the Tourism committee or using my legal background on the Judiciary committee, I am excited to continue representing the good people of Warren County."
