State Representatives Adam Mathews and Thomas Hall's proposed legislation seeks to improve transparency in Ohio's labor laws by allowing employers to post labor law notices online. House Bill 94, which recently passed a vote in the House, aims to facilitate easier access for employees to important labor information.

Mathews emphasized the need for modernization, stating, “We want our labor law to meet the demands of the current business environment, and this bill gives our workers and employers flexibility in accessing this important information.” Hall also praised the bill's potential benefits, noting, “In today’s modern world, this legislation helps employees and employers alike to utilize technology more efficiently to access information about their labor laws. I am grateful for the Committee and House’s swift action on this legislation.”

The laws that employers may post online include Ohio’s Minor Labor Law, Ohio’s Minimum Fair Wage Standards Law, Ohio’s Civil Rights Law, Ohio’s Prevailing Wage Law, Ohio’s Workers’ Compensation Law, and Ohio’s Public Employment Risk Reduction Program Law.

With the House's approval, the bill will progress to the Ohio Senate for further examination.
