State Representative Bob Peterson has expressed approval for the Ohio Department of Development's decision to allocate $750,000 for water system improvements in Bainbridge, Ross County. This funding is part of a broader initiative announced this week, where $5.75 million in grants will be distributed across 14 communities in 13 counties. The funds aim to revitalize downtown areas and upgrade essential infrastructure.
The grant awarded to Ross County targets the village of Bainbridge, where the water system has aged significantly and suffers from high water loss due to deteriorating lines. "Water system upgrades have been a pressing need in Bainbridge," stated Rep. Peterson. "I’m very glad to see the announcement of funding for this project."
Funding comes from the Flexible Grant and Residential Public Infrastructure Grant programs, supported by the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). These programs are designed to enhance living conditions by creating accessible infrastructure for individuals with disabilities, ensuring safe environments, and facilitating future development opportunities.
