State Representative Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) announced that Ohio’s tourism industry attracted more than 240 million visitors in 2024. According to the Ohio Department of Development, these visitors contributed over $57 billion in revenue and supported thousands of local businesses and attractions across the state.
“I am honored to represent Ross County, the first capital of Ohio,” said Rep. Peterson. “Its amazing history goes back to the Hopewell Mounds. Beyond the history of the 91st district, is the beauty and friendliness of its people.”
Peterson highlighted several notable destinations within his district, including Adena Mansion & Gardens Historic Site in Chillicothe, which was built for Thomas Worthington in 1807; Hopewell Mounds National Historic Park in Ross County; Rocky Fork State Park & Lake near Rainsboro; and Dogwood Pass, a replica old western town located in southern Ohio.
TourismOhio, part of the Ohio Department of Development, promotes a wide range of attractions throughout the state as places for adventure and opportunity or as potential homes for new residents. More information about these attractions can be found at https://ohio.org/.
