The Ohio House of Representatives passed Substitute House Bill 2 today, marking the state's two-year construction budget for capital projects. State Representative Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) announced that the Capital Budget will include significant investments in local community projects.

Peterson secured funding for Pike County, including $750,000 for the Pike Emergency Operations Backup Power Project and $75,000 to renovate and upgrade the electrical system of the Pike Heritage Museum.

"Energy reliability is important for the safety of families and businesses. I am proud to support long-term solutions to power services," said Peterson. "Additionally, the Pike Heritage Museum has been a cornerstone of the Waverly community since the mid-1800s. Restoring this space will allow more residents to enjoy the historic space for generations to come."

Statewide capital investments included in this legislation are:

- $600 million for the School Building Program Assistance Fund

- $400 million for the Public Works Commission Local Public Infrastructure and State Capital Improvement Program

- $397.6 million for higher education projects around Ohio

Substitute House Bill 2 now awaits a signature from the Governor.
